Welcome to TEAM LESLIE – a blog created in October 2011 by some of Leslie Bowman Marcus’ many friends. In the months leading up to her death on May 29, 2012, this was a place Leslie often visited whenever she wished to be reminded of the vast community of people who loved her, and it remains as a place where family & friends can come to read or post reminiscences of the dear friend who was such a vital presence in our lives.

Woodland Pow Wow
These two photos were shot by Bill Marcus, Saturday November 19th, on the front steps of "Chez Marcus" in Woodland. Left to right are: Reid Dabney, Leslie, Anne Gritzer, and Bob Nelson. Bob is wearing a French beret in deference to francophilia, and is holding a pair of Daffodil bulbs for spring blooming, a wonderful gift of new life from Leslie and Bill. Piedmont High School classmates Reid, Anne, and Bob journeyed from the East Bay for a short visit with Leslie, which happily lasted longer than planned! :-)

It was a delight to sit at my kitchen table with high school pals, eating sandwiches from Piedmont's own Mulberry Market, and laughing & visiting until I had to fall into a nap. I think we are all so blessed to have life-long pals. Most of my non-Piedmont friends don't have nearly as many friends that they've known as long we've all known each other -- I mean, really, how many of your non-Piedmont pals have at least 20 friends of 40 years' standing or more? Unusual, to be sure, and a big blessing!
